Criteria

In order for me to feature a website on this blog, there only really needs to be once thing in common: that, at the time of posting, there has (verifiably) been no updates or activity by the owner or any admin there may be for at least 5 years.

Why 5 years? Well, I would make it 10 years, but a website like GameSpy, which has been abandoned for going on 8 years, is not likely to be updated again. Hell, any website inactive for that long is very unlikely to be updated again. And a lot can change in 5 years. Remember who you were 5 years ago, what you were interested in, who you knew, what the internet was like, etcetera, etcetera. Looking back on it, it may not seem like that long ago, but it certainly is. If you look back at things you did 5 years ago you might get a dose of nostalgia. Plus, I just like the number 5.

So in the end, I decided to halve the minimum time a website has been inactive to consider it abandoned (by the time I make the post; who knows, maybe after the post is made the owner remembers it exists and decides to do something with it). Also I should mention the "verifiably" part of the criteria means that there is proof of a lack of updates, such as an outdated copyright date.
